Thom & Shari Seagren

President(Thom) & Board Members
Thom and Shari Seagren, co-founders of Children With Hope, first felt God “nudging” them to help begin a ministry to serve orphans in the third world nearly twenty years ago. Since that time, Thom and Shari have been humbled to see what God has done through the work of so many both in the United States and in Eldoret, Kenya. Thom and Shari have been married for 25 years and have been blessed with four children. After over 20 years as a hair stylist, Shari has now retired and has been able to focus on her children and many volunteer opportunities. Thom is the owner of a small business, an advertising firm that assists Christian colleges with their recruitment efforts. They are honored to continue in their roles on the Board of Children With Hope and look forward to seeing what God has in store for the ministry for many years to come.
Celeste Detwiler
Celeste and her husband Dave have been associated with CWH for 15 years as active sponsors and ambassadors and Celeste is very honored and excited to now be on the board. She and Dave have been devoted to raising their 3 children in Grand Junction for the past 28 years while being active in the community. Dave has enjoyed working as a Construction Owner’s Representative throughout the Western Slop and neighboring states for over 20 years. Once their children became young adults Celeste went back to school to gain a Culinary Arts degree and is now using that degree as a head banquet chef. The Detwiler family has been extremely blessed over the years experiencing CWH grow and help so many beautiful children have a safe environment to be protected, loved, and learn under the umbrella of a Christ based ministry.
Dean Miller
Dean Miller, originally from Pennsylvania, moved to Colorado in 1996 and carried out an accomplished nursing career at St. Mary’s Hospital. Now retired, he enjoys traveling all over the world for missions and often serves as the ministry’s board presence in Kenya, helping with building projects and operations. A practical voice of reason and compassion for the children, Dean has been an integral part of Children With Hope since 2003.
Jerry Stehman
Jerry Stehman is a retired businessman native to the Grand Junction area. He recently sold his sporting goods store, which he owned and operated for 36 years. A deeply devoted family man, Jerry and his wife Renee have been married 47 years, raised three kids, and now have ten grandchildren. Jerry is the newest CWH board member, having joined in early 2022, and is honored and excited to serve, love, and pray for the children!
Sean Brumelle
Sean has enjoyed watching Children With Hope grow in so many ways over the years. He is a local business owner with his beautiful bride Kacey and wonderful 4 kids. He is excited about the future of Children With Hope and seeing our heavenly Father glorified.
David Atkinson
David is a Colorado native and loves spending time with his niece and nephews in Grand Junction where he has been a longtime supporter of Children With Hope. He is honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve as part of Children With Hope, and is excited to see it grow and continue to change lives in Eldoret. David wholeheartedly believes in the mission of Children With Hope to raise up Kenya’s children to create strong Christian families and build a shining light of Christ-centered culture in the heart of Africa.
Jennifier Hanly
Jennifier Hanly currently serves as a chaplain with HopeWest Hospice. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary. Since 2010, she has lived in Grand Junction, Colorado, with her husband, Eric, a general surgeon. Married since 1997, Jennifier and Eric have participated in numerous overseas mission trips together. A dedicated mother, Jennifier homeschooled their four children while also pursuing a career focused on child advocacy and care. She has worked with children at the Kennedy Krieger Children’s Hospital and the South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center. Passionate about discipleship, missions, and sharing the gospel, Jennifier remains committed to serving others both locally and globally.
